PJ Larsen to ride Race SoCal/Rocket Exhaust Honda at Monster Energy Cup‏

Murrieta, CA - October 12, 2012 - Race SoCal Intl Inc announced today that 2010 Australian Supercross Lites Champion PJ Larsen, of Murrieta, CA, will race in the second annual Monster Energy Cup at Las Vegas' Sam Boyd Stadium on October 20 on a Race SoCal/Rocket Exhaust 2013 CRF450R. This will be the first time that Larsen will race in the Monster Energy Cup, "it's my first supercross race back since my injury and my first on a 450. I'm excited to ride the Rocket tuned Honda and race in Vegas" said Larsen. "We are happy to work with PJ in this one race deal and have him associated with our brand, we have a lot of customers from Australia where PJ is a 2 time national champion" commented Race SoCal owner, Stephen Heighton.

Rocket Exhaust tuned CRF450R

Larsen will be racing a Rocket Exhaust tuned 2013 CRF450R. Since the release of the bike Rocket has had a head start with engine and exhaust development. PJ's engine features a Vortex ignition with our own maps, Cosworth piston, Rocket Exhaust cam and cylinder head porting. PJ will also be racing with the new Rocket Exhaust Carbon/Carbon Dual Race Exhaust System. Renegade will be providing their SX4+ race fuel. "We look for PJ to turn some heads next week" says Don Leib at Rocket Exhaust.

How the deal came together

We were testing pipes at Lake Elsinore when PJ asked if he could have a ride on the new Honda 450 since he was intending to ride one in the German SX Series. He mentioned that his current contract was up and that he would like to race the Monster Energy Cup. "I called Stephen at Race SoCal that evening and asked if he was interested in entering PJ in the Monster Cup if Rocket built him a race bike" said Rocket Exhaust owner, Don Leib. "I did a day of testing pipe set ups for Rocket and getting used to the bike at Pala and will be on the full race bike supercross testing by the end of the week" commented Larsen. The deal came together pretty fast but all parties are sure PJ will perform well in Vegas.
