RCH Spices up the Lineup for Red Bull Straight Rhythm

ROCZEN, “HOT SAUCE” TO REPRESENT RCH SOARING EAGLE/JIMMY JOHN’S/SUZUKI FACTORY RACING
AT RED BULL STRAIGHT RHYTHM

CHINO, Calif. (October 8, 2015) – RCH Soaring Eagle/Jimmy John’s/Suzuki Factory Racing will add a twist to its rider lineup this weekend by pairing 2014 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Champion and 2015 championship runner-up Ken Roczen with three-time AMA titleholder Ivan “Hot Sauce” Tedesco for Saturday’s Red Bull Straight Rhythm at the Fairplex in Pomona, Calif. Both riders will compete in the 16-rider, by-invitation-only, Open Class.

Red Bull Straight Rhythm is an event unique to motocross where riders from Supercross, Pro Motocross and Arenacross disciplines come together to compete in two-man, head-to-head, bracket-style races on an “unwound" track, where there are no turns, just a half-mile, purpose- built, straight rhythm section.

Broc Tickle, rider of RCH’s No. 20 Suzuki RM-Z450 will return to the saddle next week when the team competes for $1 million in the fifth running of the Monster Energy Cup at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas.

In addition to Roczen and Tedesco, the list of riders is literally a who’s who of professional motocross racing including James Stewart, Ryan Dungey, Marvin Musquin, Dean Wilson, Justin Brayton, Andrew Short and eight others.

Tedesco returns to the starting gate for RCH after retiring from full-time competition in July 2014, following a 14-year professional career.  Since then, the Albuquerque, N.M., native has been serving as a test rider for RCH, assisting the team with its weekly preparation for Roczen and Tickle’s Supercross and Pro Motocross efforts.

"I've been doing a lot of Supercross riding over the last few months, testing with the RCH crew, and this event last year looked like a lot of fun,” explained Tedesco. "So, I put in a call to see if there were any spots left. As far as expectations go, I don't really have any. It's been a long time since I've been on a start gate but I just want to have fun with it and try and make some close racing happen."

Roczen, who didn’t compete in the inaugural event a year ago, is eager to knock the dust off since closing out the Pro Motocross season, a little over six weeks ago.

“It looked awesome,” offered Roczen of last year’s race. “It looked like a helluva fun race. I’d never seen anything like that before. I’m more than looking forward to riding in Red Bull Straight Rhythm this weekend. The most challenging aspect of the course will definitely be remembering the jumps. The race can be won or lost anywhere, pretty much. You can get a good start and have a decent-sized gap but if you make the slightest mistake or somebody is better than you on certain parts of the track, it’ll cost you big time. But, you can make up time pretty quickly so I think it’s going to be pretty close racing.”

Red Bull Straight Rhythm can be seen live, exclusively on redbull.tv, Sat., October 10 beginning at 3:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, 10 a.m. Pacific. The URL to the event broadcast is:
