Premiere of the Ron Lechien Story on Speed's "The Motocross Files" - Presented by Lucas Oil This Sunday, January 4th, 2009

Re-Air of Torsten Hallman at 4:00pm (EST) precedes Lechien Premiere at 4:30pm (EST)

FULLERTON, CA. (DECEMBER 31, 2008) – "The Dogger" Ron Lechien's story is coming to the little screen for the first time this Sunday on Speed's "The Motocross Files" at 4:30pm (Eastern Time).

Perhaps the most anticipated episode of the nine new shows for Season Three of "The Motocross Files". Ron Lechien's show is a story of incredible motocross talent and the stardom to come with it, at such a young age. Another great rider from the "El Cajon Zone", Lechien started off by winning the Pro Class at Mammoth Mountain in 1981 at age 14 and landed a ride with Team Yamaha through 1983 where he won several Supercross races and outdoor nationals at age 16. He moved to Honda in 1984 through 1985 winning the 1985 125cc National Championship and 1985 Motocross des Nations.

His social life started interfering with his professional life in 1985 and carried through with bouts of rehab, DUI's and jail time. All the while he was winning races for Kawasaki in 1986 placing in the top nationally throughout 1989. His ride at the 1988 Motocross des Nations with Ricky Johnson and Jeff Ward was perhaps his finest moment ever. He followed that up with winning the 1989 USGP in Hollister. Steel City in 1989 would see the end of the Dogger's career with a horrifying injury on the racetrack.

Today, Ron Lechien is a working partner in his family's business Maxima Racing Oils in Santee, CA. He will go down in history with Joel Robert, Marty Tripes and Jean-Michele Bayle as one of the most naturally gifted and effortless riders in the history of the sport.

"I know most everyone likes to think of Ronnie Lechien's off-track activities and forget about his unbelievable talent" said Todd Huffman, Producer of The Motocross Files. "This was one of the most naturally talented riders ever to swing a leg over a motocross bike and backed it up with a ton of national wins, des Nations titles and a National Championship. We found out ourselves what others had told us, that Ronnie was a great human being and understands what he went through and is very happy with how he lives his life today as an integral part of Maxima Racing Oils." Huffman added.

Ron Lechien's Premiere 4:30pm-Eastern (1:30pm on West Coast)
