Blose Tightens Points Gap Heading into Season Finale

DENVER, Colo. (April 24, 2017) – The penultimate round of the 2017 AMSOIL Arenacross Race to the Ricky Carmichael Cup took place Saturday night and Rockstar Energy/OTSFF/Yamaha, in association with Cycle Trader and Rock River, rider Chris Blose captured his second consecutive victory. The win proved to be valuable for Blose, moving him within just five points of the championship lead, as the season prepares for the final round in two weeks.

It was a successful night of racing for the Pirelli-mounted Blose in the Mile High City as he started off with a win in the RMATV/MC Head 2 Head Challenge, earning an additional bonus point in the Race to the Ricky Carmichael Cup. He competed using SCORPION™ MX32™ range front and rear tires.

Emerging with the holeshot in the first Main Event, Blose quickly set the pace as he pulled away to take the victory 8.1 seconds ahead of his championship rival and current points leader Gavin Faith. In the second Main Event, Blose started near the front of the field before taking control of the race lead at the end of Lap 1. While running a blistering pace out front, he made a mistake that forced him off of the track and out of the lead, eventually rejoining the race in fifth place. He would battle back to a hard-fought fourth at the checkered flag.

Blose relied on his cool, calm, and collected composure to mange his off-track excursion and emerge with the overall victory via 1-4 Main Event scores. The win reduced his deficit by three points and moved him closer to the championship lead.

The AMSOIL Arenacross Championship will take a one-week break before heading into the final round of the 2017 season at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday, May 5th.
