Pirelli Dominates the Motocross of Nations with the French Team

After Winning the 2017 MXGP Title with Antonio Cairoli and MX2 with Pauls Jonass, Pirelli Crowns a Sensational Season with First Place at Matterley Basin

MATTERLEY BASIN, Great Britain (October 2, 2017) – In front of more than 50,000 patriotic fans, 38 Nations took part in the most important event of the international season, the “Motocross of the Nations.” The scenic Matterley Basin circuit once again hosted the event after an 11-year hiatus. Pirelli tires equipped around fifty percent of the one 114-rider entry list.

The soil was slippery and muddy due to rain leading up to the event and across the racing weekend all Pirelli riders opted for the SCORPION™ MX32™ Mid Soft front tire to fight any traction issues. For rear rubber riders went with their personal choice even though the MXoN was the stage for the new SCORPION MX™ Soft tire, which also on this occasion showed a great level of performance. The SCORPION MX Soft was the first choice for Max Anstie, winner of Race 1 and 3, Jeffrey Herlings, winner of Race 2, and also by Gautier PaulinChristophe Charlier and Romain Febvre, winners of the Nations Trophy with the French team.

Success in each individual class ended a memorable day for PirelliMax Anstie triumphing in MXGPHunter Lawrence in MX2 and Jeffrey Herlings in MX Open, ending another strong event for the brand.

The final podium ceremony of the year at the Motocross of the Nations brought the 2017 season to a close. The first race of the 2018 FIM Motocross World Championship will be hosted at Neuquen in Patagonia Argentina on March 4th.
