Series Statistical Report

Peterson CAT Washougal National

  • Washougal
has hosted AMA Pro Motocross events since 1980, and the facility
is celebrating its third decade of hosting American Motocross in
    the Pacific Northwest.
  • Washougal
is known for being one of the most beautiful, yet challenging
tracks in the world, and features several iconic obstacles,
    including Horsepower Hill.
  • Last
season, a brand new start straight was introduced at Washougal,
measuring over 300 feet in length. It makes for exciting holeshots,
    and incredible photo opportunities.
  • Ryan
Dungey has won three-straight races at Washougal across both
classes, dating back to 2008 when he captured his first-career AMA
    Pro Motocross victory.
  • As
a native of Poulsbo, Wash., Ryan Villopoto considers Washougal his
home track. In three attempts, he has never won at the facility,
and will make his first career 450 Class start at the track on
    Saturday.
  • Marvin
Musquin will make his return to action this weekend, following a
thumb injury suffered at Round 2 from Freestone.
  • Only seven points separate Chad Reed from Ryan Villopoto and Ryan Dungey in the 450 Class standings.
  • Ryan Dungey's 450 Class win at Spring Creek was the 12th of his career, putting him into a tie for 9th all-time. He already sits inside the top 10, after just a year-and-a-half of premier class competition.
  • With a runner-up finish at Spring Creek, Ryan Villopoto has finished on the podium in eight of his nine career starts.
  • Ryan Villopoto is the only rider in either class to finish on the overall podium at each round this season.
  • 250
Class points leader Dean Wilson has finished second overall in
five of seven rounds this summer. He has yet to win an overall.
  • Wilson
has the most points of any rider in the series across both
classes, despite not having an overall win to his credit.
  • Chad Reed and Blake Baggett boast a series-leading seven moto wins this season.
  • Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki has won every 250 Class moto and overall of the 2011 season.

450 Class Stats

  • The first 450 Class race held at Washougal was August 14, 1983. Rick Johnson won on a Yamaha.
  • This will be the 21st time the gate will drop at Washougal for the 450 Class.
  • Ricky
Carmichael, James Stewart, Jeff Emig, and Ryan Dungey have won at
Washougal in both classes. Trey Canard will look to join that list
    this season.
  • Mike LaRocco won the last 500cc race in Washougal in 1993 on a Honda.
  • Rick
Johnson and Ricky Carmichael are the only two riders to win
    Washougal back-to-back in 1983-84 (Johnson) and 2004-05
    (Carmichael).
  • With
two wins in the 250 Class from 2008-2009 and a 450 Class win last
season, Ryan Dungey is looking to make it four-in-a-row in the
    Pacific Northwest.
  • Yamaha is in the midst of an 11-year drought at Washougal.
