Petar Petrov in the top fifteen in the GP of the Czech Republic

Petar Petrov of the Yamaha van Beers Team finished inside of
the top fifteen at round twelve of the World Championship Series in Loket
in the Czech Republic. Petrov qualified himself in 28th
position. At the start of the qualifying race he crashed and because the
track was only one line because of the muddy circumstances he couldn’t do
more than 28th position.

Just before the start of the first moto it started to rain
again and the track became really muddy. Despite his bad starting position
he took a decent start and came out of the first corner just outside of
the top twenty. In the beginning of the race he worked himself up into the
points and in the following laps he moved up to 16th position.
Lap after lap he managed to held on to this position and in the closing
stages of the race he passed the rider in front of him and moved up into
fifteenth position. Unfortunately when he got lapped by Ken Roczen he
almost lost the control over his Yamaha and this cost him a position.
After a well ridden race he crossed the finish line in 16th
position. In the second moto his start was a lot better and this time he
came out of the first corner in twelfth position. In the first part of the
race Petar was riding in twelfth position but in the middle of the race he
moved into eleventh position. Things were going really good for Petar but
despite this he got passed and finally finished the race in twelfth
position.

Overall he finished in 14th position and after twelve rounds he
sits in 17th position in the World Championship Standings.

Marc de Reuver injured himself in the warm up session. Marc
qualified himself in 19th position for the race. He was riding
in 14th position but crashed and had to be satisfied with
19th position. In the warm up he made a big crash and injured
his shoulder and he also was throwing up some blood. Because of this Marc
decided to sit out the race and hopes to be back again at the Belgian
Championship round in Mol next weekend.

The circuit in Loket was completely new for Herjan Brakke.
After he qualified himself in 22nd position on Saturday he took
a good start in the first moto and was riding inside of the points in the
beginning of the race. Unfortunately his bike stopped in the middle of the
race. Herjan managed to restart his bike but three laps later it stopped
again and because of this he was forced to retire from the race. In the
second moto he started around 13th position but unfortunately
he collided with Jonathan Barragan in the first lap and crashed. Herjan
was far behind the group of riders when he came back into the race but
with good lap times he managed to work himself back up to 21st
position. Unfortunately his effort didn’t get paid with a World
Championship point but Brakke was satisfied about his riding.

On Monday the 15th of August the Yamaha van Beers Team will
participate in a Belgian Championship round in Mol.
