Paulin 9th in German GP

Gautier Paulin and the Monster
Energy Yamaha Team headed to Round 8 of the MX2 World Championship this
past weekend, held on the hard-packed and technical Talkessel circuit in
Teutschental, Germany.

In the opening of the 35 minute
and
2 lap races Paulin grabbed a top 10 start and was racing hard as the top
MX2 riders from around the world gave everything they had. With an elbow
to
elbow battle throughout Paulin ultimately crossed the line in
7^th position.

The second moto would see a good
start for the Yamaha racer, who was in 6^th, but getting
caught
out by a soft section on the circuit Paulin was thrown over the
handlebars
of his bike. Getting back up and going Paulin was now down in
30^th place on the first lap. Pushing hard for every second of
the race Paulin cut his way through lap after lap, and at the end of the
long race the number 21 machine crossed the line in 11^th
place,
taking 9^th overall for the day.

“The bike felt good this
weekend, and my physical condition is much better, I now just need to
work
on consistent lap times in the first 10 minutes of the race, it was
during
those laps in the opening race that I lost ground. After about the mid
way
point I was then faster than the guys in front but by that point it is
hard
to pass them whilst still protecting the lines so as not to let the guys
behind come through. This week I am training in Belgium, working on some
suspension settings and also on my lap times. I am hoping for a good
result
next weekend in Latvia.” Commented Paulin.

Round 9 of the MX2 World
Championship takes place in Kegums, Latvia, next weekend.
