Oakley and Lucas Oil Motocross Announce “Oakley Bomb” Fastest Lap Program for 2012 Season

Radically Designed Oakley Trophies to Recognize Fastest Lap For Each Class Weekly; Fans Can

Foothill Ranch, Calif. (May 15, 2012) –

Sports – organizers of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship,
sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing – announced today the
“Oakley Bomb” Fastest Lap Program for the 2012 series. The weekly award
program, set to recognize the fastest clocked laps at each of the 12
Nationals for both the 250 and 450 Classes with a special Oakley Bomb
trophy, will recognize the rider who accumulates
the most Bombs throughout the season with an Elite Oakley Time Bomb II
Swiss Automatic Watch at the end of the year.



“Everyone
watches practice to scout who the badass to beat is for that weekend,”
said Anthony Paggio, Oakley’s two-wheel motorsports manager. “We want to
recognize those riders that put their
butts on the line every practice and hang it out to get the fastest lap
time. The Oakley Bomb will award the guys on top of their game for a
single qualifying lap for both classes, not just those who necessarily
end up on the podium at the end of the day.
They deserve to be rewarded.”



The
radically designed Oakley Bomb trophies, reflective of the iconic
brand’s irreverent personality, unrivaled design and hard-charging
attitude of purpose beyond reason, will be handed out
through the end of season – at which time a tally of the rider with the
most overall Bombs in his collection, will be presented with the ultra
stylish, technologically superior Oakley time piece.
