MotoSport.com/TiLUBE/Foremost Insurance SX Round 2 Race Report

RIVERSIDE, CA
 (January 16, 2012) While
some people in Phoenix were glued to their television watching the San
Francisco 49rs compete against the New Orleans Saints, Chase Field was
packed with Supercross fans for the second round of the AMA Monster
Energy Supercross Series.

MotoSport.com/TiLUBE/Foremost Insurance riders Chris Blose and Nick Wey arrived healthy, ready to do battle and improve on last weekend’s results.

In
Supercross class heat race one, Wey got hit hard coming into the first
turn but stayed upright aboard his Kawasaki 450.  Unfortunately, he was
not able to recover well enough to qualify directly to the main event.
Blose had a good start in heat race two, rode a steady and consistent
eight laps, and qualified directly to the main event. In the LCQ, Wey
got a great start and was cleanly out front by the third corner. With
six laps ahead of him Wey focused on riding a perfect race and did so en
route to the LCQ win and spot in the main event.

When
the gate dropped for the main event, both Wey and Blose charged into
the first turn and found themselves about mid pack. As the first lap
started to unfold, Wey slowed to avoid hitting an out of control rider.
Unfortunately the rider behind Wey did not do the same, resulting in
both riders going down. Wey attempted to return to the race but his
motorcycle was too damaged to continue. Blose was able to make it
through the first lap unscathed and in sixth position. On lap 10, while
battling with Josh Hansen, Blose got pushed off the track and lost a lot
of time, reentering in 15th position.  Blose went on to finish 15th on the evening and Wey was awarded 19th

“Another
tough night,” said Wey following the race. “I felt that I made
improvements this weekend. I am a little sore and bruised up but will
for sure be ready to give it my all at Dodger Stadium next weekend.”

“I
had a good start in the main and really wanted to be top ten for my
hometown fans,” said Blose. “This week I am going to focus on my
intensity for next weekend’s battle in Los Angeles.”

Next
Saturday night the series travels to historic Dodger Stadium in Los
Angeles for the third round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross
Series.  Be sure to stop by the MotoSport.com/TiLUBE/Foremost Insurance
truck to show your support and to have your picture taken with Nick Wey
and Chris Blose from 12:30 pm – 5:30 pm.  See you there!
