MotoSport.com/TiLUBE/Foremost Insurance SX Round 15 Race Report

RIVERSIDE, Calif.
(April 23, 2012). A fantastic day in Seattle awaited
MotoSport.com/TiLUBE/Foremost Insurance riders Nick Wey, Justin Sipes
and Chris Blsoe for round 15 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross
series. This weekend’s event would mark the return of Chris Blose and
the team’s first race fielding three riders.

The trio of Wey,
Sipes and Blose went out for qualifing to learn the track and see what
kind of fast laps they could post. By the end of the qualifying sessions
the rankings were Sipes in 11th, Wey in 16th and Blose in 20th.

Blose
and Wey were both in heat race one and both started inside the top 10.
Wey quickly moved into qualifying position while Blose found himself in
11th. With only a few corners to go Wey came into contact with a slower
rider causing them both to go down. Wey’s misfortune enabled Blose to
sneak past the two downed riders and claim the final transfer spot to
the main event. Wey would be forced to ride the LCQ. Sipes lined up for
the second heat race, and like his teammates, he started inside the top
10. An untimely stalled engine dropped Sipes to 12th as the laps began
to wind down. Determined to avoid the LCQ, Sipes put in an impressive
late-race charge, weaving through the competition en route to claiming
the final transfer spot to the
main event. In the LCQ, Wey rode a solid race to finish second, completing the team’s main event trifecta.

All
three MotoSport.com/TiLUBE/Foremost Insurance lined up with specific
goals for the main event. Wey was feeling stronger and looking for yet
another top 10 finish, while Sipes was focusing on joining his teammate
inside the top 10. In his first race back, Blose was ready to put in 20
strong laps and see how the race developed. Wey, Sipes and Blose all
made it cleanly through the first few laps and found themselves running
ninth, 10th and 11th, respectively. They raced each other clean for the
next 16 laps, putting on an exciting show for the crowd. At the
checkered flag, the trio would finish in 10th (Wey), 13th (Sipes) and
14th (Blose).

“Qualifying did not go smoothly but I was able to
get a decent start from the outside. I made some mistakes that cost me
some time, but I managed to finish in the top 10,” said Wey following
his fourth top 10 finish of the season. “I was happy for everyone
involved with the team because we succeeded in our effort to get all
three riders in the main event. A pretty impressive accomplishment given
the highly competitive field.”

“I am still working towards a top
10 finish before the end of the season,” said Sipes after the race. “I
finished 13th this weekend which is good but I am not going to give up
pushing until I break into the top 10.”

“Seattle was a success
for me,” said Blose. “Especially since it was my first race back in over
three months. My goal was to make the main and ride all 20 laps, and
that’s what I did. This week I will continue riding and training, and
will be even better prepared for Salt Lake City.”

Next week the
series travels to Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City for the 16 round
of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series. Be sure to stop by the
MotoSport.com/TiLUBE/Foremost Insurance Team truck to show your support
and to have your picture taken with Nick Wey, Chris Blose and Justin
Sipes from 12:30 pm – 5:30 pm. See you there!
