MotoSport.com/TiLUBE/Foremost Insurance SX Round 12 Race Report

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (March 26, 2012) – In Toronto Canada this past weekend Monster
Energy AMA Supercross series broke yet another attendance record with
over 47,000 fans. Held at the Roger Center since 2004 theMotoSport.com/TiLUBE/Foremost Insurance riders were read to do battle.
 
Justin  Sipes qualified a seasons best 16th, while Nick Wey took a weekend off to recover from a spectaular crash that took him out of last weekends racing.
 
Sipes
would be in the first heat race. With a great jump on the start and
some good moves on lap one, Sipes found himself in fourth. With seven
laps ahead of him and a deceivingly slippery track Sipes rode cautiously
and qualified seventh, directly to the main event.
 
As Sipes lined up for the evening’s main event, he once again set a goal of improving on his previous 12th place main event finish. The MotoSport.com/TiLUBE/Foremost Insurance
rider went into the first turn ready to bang bars and get the best
start possible. By the end of lap one, Sipes was in 15th. At the halfway mark Sipes was already up to 12th and still on the move. On lap 14 Bret Metcalf made a small mistake and went down, Sipes was able to capitalize and claim the 11th position. He would go on to cross the finish line with another season’s best 11th.
 
“I
rode good, and seem to be improving,” said Sipes following the race.
“This week I am going to work on my starts, I need to start more to the
front in the main
events.”
