MotoSport.com/TiLUBE/Foremost Insurance SX Round 1 Race Report

RIVERSIDE,
CA

(January 9, 2012)
A
capacity crowd packed Anaheim Stadium for the first round of the 2012
Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series where fans were treated to an
exciting night of spectacular racing!

Nick
Wey and Chris Blose got the day off to a good start aboard
MotoSport.com/TiLUBE/Foremost Insurance KX450F motorcycles. Nick and
Chris both made it cleanly through the afternoon practice sessions
landing each rider in separate heat races to begin the evening’s
racing.

In
Supercross class heat race one, Blose powered off the line with a
great start and found himself in seventh after the first lap. During
the fourth lap, Ryan Villopoto was applying pressure to get by Blose
and eventually got by cleanly. Blose went on to qualify ninth place
for the Supercross main event. In Supercross class heat race two, Wey
did not get off the gate well and found himself in the back of the
pack after lap one. He would have his work cut out for him needing to
pass several riders to get inside the top nine who qualify straight
into the main event. After six laps, Wey was in 10th
and needing to pass one more rider. Unable to make a pass stick Wey
had to go to the LCQ. In the LCQ Wey got a good start and was
fighting for the last transfer spot with Tommy Hahn. Unfortunately,
Hahn came up with the second place finish and the last transfer spot
to the main event.

“I
had tough night,” said Wey following the race. “It was great to
see the fans and now I’m even more motivated to have a strong
finish to the season.”

In
the Supercross main event, engines revved as the 30-second board went
horizontal and the gate fell. As the pack rounded the first turn,
Blose was in 18th
and looking to better his position. When the first lap ended, Blose
was still back in the pack riding in 17th
position. For the next few laps, Blose rode smart and began to make
passes on the very technical Anaheim track. At the halfway point
Blose was in 15th.
With the tough track and few small mistakes, Blose ended his night
safe and sound in 18th
position.

“This
was a tough track and I wanted to get through the first round
healthy,” said Blose. “The team is great and I can’t wait for
next weekend’s race in my hometown of Phoenix.”

Next
weekend the series travels out to Phoenix, Arizona and Chase Field
for the second round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series. Be
sure to stop by the MotoSport.com/TiLUBE/Foremost Insurance truck to
show your support and to have your picture taken with Nick Wey and
Chris Blose from 12:30 pm – 5:30 pm. See you there!
