Press Release

Moose Racing - On The Podium

The Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio
welcomed the AMA Arenacross series for the first time this past weekend
and fans were treated to some patented close racing. This was also the
second two-night stop of the fourteen round series.

Friday night saw Team Babbitt’s
Kawasaki rider Tyler Bowers grab a second place start in the 25-lap
main event. Bowers paced the race and series leader, Jeff Gibson before
making his move in the closing laps and taking his second win of the
season.

Bowers’ trip to the main event on Saturday night took
him through the Last Chance Qualifier and landed him on the second row
in the main. After a decent start, Bowers worked his way through the
pack to take the runner up position. With this finish, he is now within
three points of the lead in the championship point’s standings.

The
series now heads south to Louisville, Ky. and the Freedom Hall for the
sixth round of the series this coming Saturday, February 12th.

Over in Barcelona, Spain, David Knight
was competing in the second round of the FIM Indoor World Enduro
Championship. This series has a similar layout to the Endurocross
series found here in the states and was Knight’s first Indoor Enduro
event in over a year. Despite the layoff, “Knighter” set some of the
fastest qualifying times, took home a qualifying race win, and earned
podium finishes in all three final events (2-3-2.) This consistency
landed Knight on the podium in the second place position.

After
the unfortunate passing of off-road champion Nathan Woods, the
motorcycle community has really stepped up to show their support for
his family. There will be a benefit ride day on February 23rd at Glen Helen Raceway, Shane Watts is doing a fundraiser on his site, Moto X Cinema has a DVD fundraiser, and there is the Rider Down Foundation’s donation page. All of these gestures really go to show you how much of a great person Nathan was and how much he will be missed.
