Both the WORCS and Can-Am GNCC Racing series’ wrapped up this past weekend with events in Mesquite, Nev. and Crawfordsville, Ind., respectively.

An uncharacteristically dry summer in Indiana created some dusty and challenging conditions at the Ironman GNCC but that didn’t stop more than 10,000 spectators from coming out and cheering on their favorite racers.

Newly
crowned XC1-class champion, Josh Strang had a good ride going as he led
just past the halfway point, but a clogged air filter brought on bike
troubles and Strang would ultimately finish in 11th position.

Team rider, Jesse Robinson battled the tough conditions and a cold
to take the early lead in the XC2 class but after three hours of
intense riding, Robinson would finish with a hard-earned second place,
less than a minute behind the winner.

"Once I got in the lead
I put my head down but when I would charge I would start coughing, so I
was never able to ride like I wanted to ride," said Robinson.

With his second place finish at the Ironman GNCC, Robinson secured third overall in the championship points, earning himself two wins in the process.

Out west in Nevada, the final WORCS event of the season took place in Mesquite, Nev. with the top three positions in the Pro class still up for grabs.

The “Junkyard Dog”, John Dowd made his second WORCS
appearance of the season, Justin Soule was looking to earn himself the
final podium spot in the overall standings, and recent Pro 2-class
champion, Ryan Abbatoye stepped up to try his hand in the Pro class.
Needless to say Moose Racing was well represented!

The two hour
long race was filled with multiple leaders, including Dowd, and plenty
of drama. When the dust settled, Soule was the top Moose Racing rider
in the Pro class via a third place finish. Despite his strong finish,
Soule finished the season in fourth overall, collecting four podium
finishes along the way.

With the absence of Abbatoye in the Pro 2 class, the door was left
wide open for fellow Moose Racing rider, Corey Floyd to take home the
win, his fourth podium finish of the season. Like Soule in the Pro
class, Floyd earned himself fourth overall for the season in the
competitive Pro 2 class.
