Press Release

Moose Racing - On The Podium

Moose Racing

The last two Can-Am GNCC series events had been postponed due to
inclement weather and to say that the series competitors were ready to
get back to racing would be an understatement. The Rock Run GNCC held in
Patton, Pa. was the site of the first race back and defending champion
Josh Strang was on a mission to take over the series points lead.

Throughout the grueling three-hour race the lead changed hands
multiple times as the competitors battled through rocks, ruts and even
some minor bike issues. Strang, Charlie Mullins, and Paul Whibley, all
led at some point during the race with Whibley eventually taking the win
after Strang suffered some rear brake issues towards the end of the
race.

"The last two laps the brakes started fading on me, so it was
difficult, but Paul rode a good race and it's good to get back in the
lead in the standings," said Strang. "I had the lead and then Whibs got
me when I pitted. After that I struggled with the brakes. But I felt
good and I'm happy with how the bike worked. We did some testing and we
got a good set-up for the rocks and the suspension worked great in the
rocks."

With his solid second place finish, Strang took over the series lead by three points over Mullins.

In the XC2 class, team rider Jesse Robinson battled for the lead
during the entire three-hour race and narrowly missed taking his second
win of the season by less than two seconds.

The next round of racing action will be June 25 – 26 for the Snowshoe GNCC in Snowshoe, W.Va.

Out west, at the fifth WORCS event of the season in Payette,
Idaho, Justin Soule earned his third podium finish of the year with a
solid third place ride in Sunday’s race.

Soule was running up front in Saturday’s race as well but
suffered severe bike problems after a rock punctured his crankcase,
resulting in a lengthy pit stop and a 15th place finish. With the first
half of the WORCS calendar in the books, Soule sits in fifth place
overall and will be looking to make a surge towards to the podium in the
coming rounds.

Despite taking a few extra days to complete, the AMA Grand
National Championship Flat Track race held in Springfield, Ill.,
featured some exciting racing and a podium appearance by Moose Racing’s
own, J.R. Schnabel.

After running in second place for much of the race, Schnabel was
able to hold on for an impressive third place finish at the Springfield
TT. The next GNC race will be held June 11 at the Hartford Half-Mile in
Hartford, Mich.
