The
sun cooked a heaving Valkenswaard circuit for a super memorable Grand
Prix of the Netherlands this weekend. The 35,000 fans that weren’t
taking shade and getting buzzed in the Monster Energy compound were
lining the banks of the sand to watch Steven Frossard produce an
awesome performance.

The Monster Energy Yamaha racer and MX1
class rookie somehow put aside the pain of some strained collarbone
ligaments to plow through the sapping Dutch sand and take fourth
place overall. The French rider’s exploits against a field full of
GP winners meant that he lifted the ‘Red Plate’ as series leader
after only two rounds on the powerful Yamaha YZ450F.

As Keith
Flint mixed it up with the onlooking fans, CLS Kawasaki Monster
Energy Pro Circuit’s Tommy Searle blazed to his second MX2 podium
finish in a row and Monster Energy Yamaha’s David Philippaerts
hoisted his first trophy since a sweltering Grand Prix of Brazil last
August with third overall in MX1.

The
Monster Army now head to the mecca of motocross in SoCal in three
weeks for the U.S. Grand Prix at Glen Helen and another chance for
this sport to put on a spectacle for the crowds on one of the most
grueling tracks of the lot. Stay tuned for how it goes down...
