Monster Energy's Ryan Villopoto Wins in Dallas!‏

Torrential
downpours couldn’t stop the masses from heading to Dallas for the
seventh round of Monster Energy Supercross, held at Cowboys Stadium
on Saturday night.

Monster
Energy swept the first heat race of the Supercross Class, as Ryan
Villopoto, Jake Weimer, and Broc Tickle charged to the front of the
pack and finished first, second, and third, respectively.

The
Monster Energy Supercross Lites East Region made its series debut in
Dallas, while the Supercross Lites West Region took its mid-season
hiatus. Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Darryn Durham, his
first year on the team, was ready to make an impact in Dallas.

Durham
got a great start in his heat race and finished second. He ripped a
holeshot in the Supercross Lites East Main, led for half the race,
and ended up battling with the reigning Supercross Lites East champ,
Justin Barcia. He looked good and gave the crowd an awesome show as
he battled back and forth with Barcia for the next few laps. He
piloted his Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki to a solid second,
earning his first podium in the class!

Monster
Energy Kawasaki’s Jake Weimer has been working hard to bounce back
from a couple tough weeks. His hard work paid off this week, and he
got a killer start in the Supercross Main. He followed up with a
solid third place finish.

Once
again, Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto dominated the
night. A heat race win in the Supercross Class was followed by a Main
Event win, which further extended Villopoto’s championship points
lead.

The
Monster Energy crew heads to Atlanta next week, as the Georgia Dome
will play host to the eighth round of the Monster Energy Supercross
Class, and the second round of the Monster Energy Supercross Lites
East Region. Monster Energy Kawasaki's Ryan Villopoto will hold on to
the red plate in the Supercross Class, and has extended his points
lead to 158, while teammate, Jake Weimer, jumps to fifth overall with
92 points. Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki's Darryn Durham heads
to Atlanta in second overall in the Supercross Lites East Region,
with 22 points.
