Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki¹s Rattray and Tickle Back on Podium

Corona, Calif. (February 21, 2011)

- Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki's Tyla Rattray and Broc Ticle
found their way back to the podium during a muddy race at Qualcomm
Stadium in San Diego. Rattray, who did not race Anaheim 2 due to a back
injury, came back strong to finish as the runner-up, while Tickle
finished just behind in third. Teammate Josh Hansen put in a solid ride
to retain his points lead in the championship standings as the AMA
Supercross Lites Western Region takes a seven-week break while the
series heads east.

Once able to get back on the bike, Rattray put in a solid week of
training, eager to get back on the podium. The rain seemed to work to
his advantage and he put in a steady ride to finish second.

"It feels really good to not only be back, but back on the podium", said
Rattray. "I feel like I've had to overcome a lot already this year with
my wrist and then my back, it's definitely nice to go into the break
with a good finish."

Moving himself closer to the points lead, Tickle gained five points with his third-place ride over his teammate Hansen.

"I have been looking for my second win, but right now my main focus is
to constantly put myself in a position where I can be there at the end
for the championship," said Tickle. "I felt good tonight, but the track
was very technical with the mud and rain. I'm just glad I was able to
get on the podium and gain some good points on Josh."

Despite riding injured the past two races, Hansen still has managed to
maintain the points lead he started at the opening round in Anaheim.
The conditions in San Diego didn't help him out, but he held onto a
solid sixth in the main event and goes into the break with the points
lead.

"For me, I knew tonight was going to be about getting through 15 laps
on two wheels and try to work through the pain for that short time,"
said Hansen. "Now we have a long break and I can focus on getting my
hand back to normal. I won't be relaxing during the break, but I want
to come back stronger."

The next event will bring the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team
to the East Coast at Georgia Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. The eighth round
of the Monster Energy Supercross, an FIM Championship, will bring back
Dean Wilson and Blake Baggett for the next seven races for the AMA
Supercross Lites Eastern Region.
