The
fireworks and explosions are always bigger the second time around at
Angel Stadium for Monster Energy AMA Supercross, but the winner remained
the same on Saturday night in Anaheim, Calif. Monster Energy Kawasaki's
Ryan Villopoto grabbed his second holeshot of the season, established
the lead, and never looked back leading every lap of the main event to
regain the points lead. Villopoto's teammate Jake Weimer found himself
at the back of the field after crashing on the first lap and charged
back to finish 11th, just behind Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki's
Broc Tickle in 10th. Tickle's teammate Dean Wilson rode a consistent
race to finish just off the podium in fourth in the Supercross Lites
class.
