Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green Riders Heat Up Women's Motocross Association Series

IRVINE, Calif. (June 4, 2007) – Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Elizabeth Bash and Tania Satchwell earned top-10 finishes at the first two rounds of the Women’s Motocross Association Championship presented by Kawasaki at Glen Helen Raceway and Hangtown MX.

The first round at Glen Helen Raceway saw Bash come back from a first-lap crash, catching up with the front runners after a twenty-second deficit. In the second moto, one of Bash’s tires went flat with two laps to go, but she was able to come across the finish line in sixth, earning sixth overall.

“I was running in third for a while but had some bad luck with the tire going flat,” said Bash. “I was lucky to finish where I did.”

Satchwell started off the first moto toward the back after stalling at the gate and eventually made her way up to 11th. In the second moto, she ran a solid race, finishing in eighth and earning ninth overall for the weekend.

“I was happy I was with the pack during the second moto,” said Satchwell. “I will be walking away with many lessons learned, especially with my starts.”

During the second round at Hangtown MX, Bash returned to action with great consistency, finishing both her motos in the fourth position. Bash currently sits fourth in the point standings.

After a mediocre first round, Satchwell was ready to make a comeback. In the first moto, she went down, but was able to pull off a fifth-place finish. With good friend and fellow Kawasaki rider Ben Townley cheering her on, Satchwell went out and picked up a seventh-place finish in the second moto.

“After going down in the first moto, I was happy to have Ben on the field yelling at me to charge ahead when I needed it during the second moto,” said Satchwell.

The Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green riders will be at the third round of the WMA in Budds Creek, Md., starting June 16.
