CORONA, Calif.
(April 14,  2012) - The Monster
Energy crew traveled to the deep south this week and paraded into the
Mercedes-Benz Superdome for the next round of Monster Energy
Supercross. It was a chilly night, but that didn’t stop the fans
from trekking to the stadium to witness their favorite Monster Energy
athletes battle it out in New Orleans!

Monster
Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Darryn Durham has won heat races
before, but New Orleans gave him his very first Supercross Lites main
event win! He navigated into the early lead, and held strong for the
remainder of the race despite pressure from his teammate, Blake
Baggett. Congratulations on your milestone, Darryn!

Monster
Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto has already clinched the
championship in the Supercross Class, but that didn’t stop him from
completely dominating the field in New Orleans! He started the night
by winning his heat race, and then decided to keep the momentum going
by leading every lap in the main!

Monster
Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Blake Baggett also displayed some
speed on Saturday. He finished second, giving the Monster Energy/Pro
Circuit/Kawasaki team its first 1-2 finish in Supercross Lites East
this season.

Tickle
finished tenth in the Supercross Class despite an early-race
incident.

Monster
Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Broc Tickle has been riding on a wave
of consistency the past few weeks. He has finished in the top-ten for
the past several weeks after struggling to find his stride in the
Supercross Class earlier in the season. He was determined to keep
this consistency going in New Orleans, even after an early-race
crash. He remounted, pushed through the pack, and finished tenth.

Jake
Weimer looks to bounce back next Saturday in Seattle.

Monster
Energy Kawasaki’s Jake Weimer started the night strong by winning
his heat race in the Supercross Class. He ran into some bad luck in
the main, but is looking to rebound next week in Seattle.

Monster
Energy now heads to the west coast, as the next round of Monster
Energy Supercross will slide into Seattle’s Century Link Field next
Saturday, April 21. The Supercross Lites East Region will take a
two-week break while the Supercross Lites West Region gets back to
work. Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Dean Wilson will
re-enter the scene in Seattle with the points lead and the coveted
red plate. Teammate, Tyla Rattray, is still recovering from injuries
sustained earlier in the Supercross Lites West season. In the
Supercross Class, Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto has the
championship wrapped up, while teammate Weimer is in seventh overall
with 171 points. Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Broc Tickle
is in tenth overall in the Supercross Class, with 133 points.
