Monster Athlete Justin Hill Claims Amateur All-Star Victory at Inaugural Monster Energy Cup

CORONA,Calif.
(October 16, 2011) –The inaugural Monster Energy Cup on Saturday
night from Las Vegas’ Sam Boyd Stadium was not just a showcase of
the world’s best riders, but the future stars of the sport as well.
The Amateur All-Stars consisted of the top A- and B-class riders from
the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship earlier in the
summer, and Monster Energy was well represented.

Hill
(154), was a fixture at the front of the field throughout the
evening.

Monster
Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Justin Hill kicked-off the two-moto
format for the Amateur All-Stars with a heated battle for the podium.
Going head-to-head against the likes of Zach Bell, Austin Politelli,
Cole Thompson and Jessy Nelson, Hill had his hands full, and while he
raced well, was forced settle for fourth. Despite that, Hill still
sat in good position to take home the overall win, and was poised to
bounce back in the final moto.

As
the gate dropped on Moto 2, Hill took advantage of a strong start,
and asserted himself at the front of the field early. From there,
Hill, the younger brother of AMA veteran Josh Hill, dominated,
running away from the field, and giving himself the chance to claim
the overall.

Hill’s
4-1 moto scores led to a four-way tie atop the overall standings,
with Politelli, Thompson, and Bell all sharing the same 5-point
total. However, by virtue of his win in the final moto, Hill claimed
the crucial tie-breaker, giving him one of the biggest wins of his
career, on one of the sport’s biggest stages.
