Mike Kras limits damage at Dutch Open Markelo

Amsterdam - A
perfect day at the penultimate round of the Dutch Open Championship in
Markelo. A better than expected third qualification time for Mike Kras
on the rather flat track in the morning. After he rode into the gate
with Petrov and Herlings, he was able to make his way up to 8th position
despite the pain on his collarbone injury. He had a perfect start in
the second heat bringing Mike in third position. Halfway this second
heat he dropped back to 6th position due to pain caused by the hard
bumps.

First heat:

A bad start in this first heat when he rode into the
startinggate together with Petrov and Herlings. The three of them made
their way trough the pack and Mike landed in 8th position. The hard
bumps caused big pain on Mike's collarbone injury but he showed us a
great fighting spirit.

Second heat:

Immediately after the start of the second heat, Mike took the third
position and was able to go with the pace of it. Halfway he once again
suffered a lot of pain on the collarbone and dropped back to a well-done
6th position.

We
are very happy with the result today in Markelo because three weeks ago
it did not look like it could be possible for Mike to ride. He
minimalized the damage in the overall championship standings and looks
forward to the last round in Mill..

Next Race: 15/10 - Dutch Championship - Mill
