450 Class Stats
- Ryan Dungey is enjoying an nine-round overall winning streak, winning 16 of the last 18 motos. He has swept the motos in seven of those nine wins and is looking to equal the overall win total from his championship-winning 2010 rookie season.
- With his nine wins, Dungey has already helped KTM sit fifth on the all-time manufacturers' wins list, surpassing Husqvarna (8), Bultaco (4), Can-Am (4), and CZ (3). Prior to 2012, KTM had never won a 450 Class race.
- Dungey has won 40 of the 70 motos he's entered in his 450 Class career (57%), claiming the overall in 23 of 35 races (65%). He already sits third on the all-time wins list, behind only Ricky Carmichael and Bob Hannah.
- Comparatively, through his first 35 career 450 Class races, Ricky Carmichael captured 27 overall victories.
- Carmichael also earned 1,575 career points through the first 35 races of his 450 Class career, while Dungey has amassed 1,587 points over that same span.
- Dungey is the only rider in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship to finish on the podium in every moto. His worst result was third in the first moto of the season.
- Mike Alessi has finished on the overall podium in eight of 11 rounds and has secured the runner-up spot in the championship as a privateer. He also has one moto win.
- Josh Grant's third-place finish at Steel City was his first podium result since winning at RedBud during the 2009 season. It was the first podium result for Jeff Ward Racing Kawasaki.
- While first and second place in the championship have been decided, a battle for third is taking place between Andrew Short, Jake Weimer, and Broc Tickle. Six points separate Short from Weimer, while Tickle sits an additional 18 points behind.

250 Class Stats
- With Eli Tomac's win at Steel City, he and Blake Baggett both have four overall victories. In the event of a tie at the conclusion of Saturday's race, the champion will be determined based on moto wins. Currently, Baggett has nine to Tomac's eight.
- If Baggett secures a fifth overall victory on Saturday, it would mark the 100th Lucas Oil Motocross victory for Pro Circuit Racing as well as its 10th Nationals title.
- With four riders entering Lake Elsinore with a mathematical chance at the championship, this is one of the most competitive 250 Class seasons in the 40-plus year history of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.
- Tomac has earned his success this season, passing an average of 4.8 riders per moto.
- Over the last two rounds, Tomac has led 37 laps and taken four of six moto wins. Comparatively, Baggett has led two laps and won just a single moto, which gave him the overall victory at Southwick, despite tying with Tomac in event points
- With the exception of Southwick, Tomac has finished better than Baggett at each round since RedBud.
- Tomac's 1-1 moto effort at Steel City was just the fourth moto sweep of the season. Baggett and Tomac each have two apiece.
- Baggett's first moto holeshot at Steel City was his first of the season.
- Baggett has failed to win a moto at only four rounds this season. This is the longest he's gone without winning a moto in 2012.
- The four contenders in the championship - Baggett, Tomac, Barcia and Roczen - are averaging a podium finish this season.
- If either Tomac or Barcia wins the championship on Saturday, it would be just the second title for the Factory Connection squad and its second in three seasons.
- Kawasaki is looking to claim its ninth title since the year 2000.
