Livia Lancelot Reigns in France

ERNEE (FRANCE), 7 June 2009 – Livia Lancelot wrapped up her first overall win at home track Ernee in great style, with the Championship leader dominating both moto’s and topping the podium from Laier and Papenmeier.

Lining up for moto two after yesterday’s dominant performance, pole sitter Lancelot got another good start to move past Laier on the outside of the first corner. The Kawasaki Racing rider pushed hard from lap one to get rid of Laier and celebrate a well deserved home victory in front of a massive cheering crowd. This triumph saw Lancelot build on her Championship lead as the defending Champion aims at grasping her second World Crown this year.

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Laier settled for second to take another podium with second overall while German compatriot Papenmeier crossed the finish line in third more than 20 seconds after Laier.

The result handed Laier the second place on the podium while Teka Suzuki Europe World MX2’s Papenmeier was third overall, with the two being level in points. Though in two weeks the two Germans will be hungrier than ever in front of their home crowd at Teutschenthal where they hope to close in on Lancelot-the trio is spread in 37 points.

Taking another fourth today, Kawasaki Elf Pfeil’s Franke was fourth overall ahead of Veenstra.
