Hepler, Stephane Roncada, Brock Sellards, Steve Lamson, John Dowd, Ezra
Lusk, Ernesto Fonseca and Branden Jesseman.
Tom White of the Early Years of Motocross Musuem comments “Why is Gary
Semics so important to the history of motocross in America? Was it
winning a Supercross Championship (500 class), being a member of
the U.S. MX of Nations Team, being a consistent top ten finisher in AMA
Pro races, or was it just competing at the top of level of the sport for
14 years?
All great stuff! No, the real reason is Gary's
ability thru his Gary Semics Motocross Schools to break down the
techniques of riding motocross and teach them to the next generations of
riders. Wanta ride like Jeremy McGrath, Kevin Windham, or Ryan
Villopoto?
Semics was their tutor!”
Alex Moroz states, “In the early 70’s, while going to college at the
University of Dayton, we would catch Gary at the races and just be
“Wowed” on how fast this guy would go. In 1974, when he won the
Supercross title for Husky, we knew this guy was headed for greatness.
In 2007 at the AMA VMD AHRMA National, Gary joined us in our Race of
Champions and gave everyone a lesson on how fast Old School really
is!”Moroz concluded.
Gary Semics will be at the Legends & Heroes display to meet the fans
from 11am to 12pm on Saturday, Sept. 3rd!
