Legends & Heroes Tour will pay tribute to First American, Gary Bailey, @ Elsinore National!

September 5, 2012 - Manlius, NY:  The Legends & Heroes Tour announces today that they will be paying tribute to the First American, Gary Bailey, during the final Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship round at the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park this Saturday.  Bailey, known as the “Professor”, is a pioneer to the sport of motocross.  Winning AMA nationals in the early 1970’s, he placed name in history books in the United States during the early days of the sport.

To his credit, Bailey was First American to beat the Europeans; First American Motocross School; First Builder/Designer of Daytona Supercross track; First person to design and have custom built a Toy Hauler RV; First to use whoops in a motocross track; First to use video for training; First to design a video helmet camera; First to shoot a MX action video; and First to patent pivot levers.

“We feel it’s fitting to recognize Mr. Bailey accomplishes especially here at the return of Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship at Lake Elsinore” states Alex Moroz and Mike Owens, managing partners of the Legends & Heroes Tour. ”Gary, growing up in So-Cal, was a native who had a great impact on our sport as a First American.  It was only fitting to present this 1st American award to him at the series final this weekend” Moroz and Owens conclude.

The Legends & Heroes Tour will present Mr. Bailey with his “1st American Award” on the Lucas Oil podium during opening ceremonies during the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championships at the Elsinore Motorsports Park.
Mr. Bailey will also be at the Legends & Heroes display after moto 1 for a meet and greet with the fans.

The Legends & Heroes Motocross Tour is a professional historical display and time-line of Americas greatest motorsport. The tour includes the machines and the champs of Motocross.
