Kawasaki and Austin Forkner Agree to Multi-Year Contract

Irvine, CA (August 2, 2015) – Kawasaki Motors Corp. U.S.A. and Austin Forkner have agreed to a multi-year contract that will see him transition from Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green® to the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team on a KX™250F.

“This is a great opportunity for me and I am stoked to stay on Kawasaki and join Mitch (Payton) and everyone on the team,” said Forkner. “From the beginning, my goal has been to win championships as a pro and I believe that Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki gives me the best opportunity to achieve my goals.”

The Missouri native has been a part of Team Green since 2011. During his amateur career he claimed six AMA National Championships at Loretta Lynn’s. Forkner will continue to race with Team Green through the Monster Energy Cup and the Spring AMA amateur nationals before possibly lining up on the gate for the 2016 AMA Pro Motocross season.

“Austin is a talented rider who brings a lot of skill and personality to our team,” said Kawasaki Racing’s Bruce Stjernstrom. “Team Green provides a proven transition for our riders from the amateur ranks to the pros. We believe Austin has the capability to successfully follow that path.”

Forkner won four motos and two championships this week at the AMA Amateur Motocross Championships at Loretta Lynn’s.
