Kawasaki Teams Presentation

VALKENSWAARD, 30 March 2007- KME-Kawasaki Motors Europe- presented its main teams today in Valkenswaard, the venue of this weekend’s Grand Prix of Benelux. Many Kawasaki representatives attended the event, such as Marketing Executive Mr. Zoontjes, Team Green Coordinator Mr. Guttridge, Managing Director Mr. Nakagawa, and Director Mr. Hanawa.

The main green teams - Jan de Groot’s Kawasaki Racing Team Europe, GPKR-Grand Prix Kawasaki Racing, Molson Kawasaki Racing, and CLS Kawasaki - were presented to the press in the VIP area of the Eurocircuit.

The massive Kawasaki riders’ line up entered the room on their bikes, then each rider and team manager were presented to the press.

The CLS team want to make up for an unlucky 2006 season, at the end of which their top rider Mickael Maschio retired. Now former World Champion Maschio is the coach of the three French riders: Thomas Allier, Anthony Boissiere, and Steven Frossard.

Team Molson had a great season in 2006, but they want to improve this year. British Tom Church and South African Gareth Swanepoel will chase the podium this weekend, as Scottish Stephen Sword will need some more time before being fit enough to race.

The GPKR team was created last year by Roger Pourcel and Patrick Gelade; they will defend the MX2 World Title this year with Christophe Pourcel, and their line up is completed by Sebastien Pourcel, Gregory Aranda and Livia Lancelot.

The Kawasaki Racing Team Europe is a young squad. Estonian Tanel Leok grasped his first podium finish last year, and this year he aims at his first GP win. On the other hand, MX1 debutant Billy Mackenzie is very excited to start this new GP campaign.

Team Green Coordinator Steve Guttridge stated: “For 2007, Kawasaki has increased their support of Motocross Grand Prix’s again which helps us deliver an even stronger package this year in both MX1 and MX2 classes. Team CLS join us from France, and Team Wulfsport from Ireland, and with the Medei Team representing Kawasaki in Italy, not forgetting our support of the additional classes for the Women’s and Veterans World Cups! If we are going to race in them, then we want to win in them! Finally, thanks to Team Delta and all the other Kawasaki teams.”
