Josh Strang Finishes Fourth For Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing At Round 5 Of GNCC

HUSQVARNA RIDER, THADDEUS DUVALL CLAIMS A 3 RD PLACE FINISH IN XC1 PRO

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Josh Strang continues battled the post-rain elements to a fourth place finish at the 5 th round of the 2015 GNCC season in Springville, IN. Following a rain filled Saturday, the weather improved for race day at the Limestone 100, but the track remained heavily affected so it was determined by officials to shorten the course roughly 8 miles. The shortened track brought lappers into the equation much sooner than usual. As the day went on the course became diabolical with very technical, rough and rutty sections. Strang started well and was in 3rd through race mile 1 right behind the leaders. After following two riders the wrong way on the course, he dropped down to 7th place and had his work cut out for him to regain the lost time. After pushing forward for a few good laps, he caught the lead group and battled back and forth for top 5. As the final laps of the race unfolded he and fellow Husqvarna Racer, Thad Duvall, went back and forth for that final podium spot, in which Strang ended up 4th, surrendering 3rd to Duvall.

“Started off well; was in 3rd for half of the first lap before taking a wrong turn and dropped back to 7th. Felt good all day but really frustrated on a 4th place; it's not where I belong. This result was my best at this track so that's a plus. Bummed I couldn't get in the box for the people behind me. Next race!” explained Strang.

Teammate Andrew DeLong also started well, and by race mile 2 was in 4th position right behind Strang. He put in a few hard laps and ran with the top guys showing good speed while still recovering from injury. DeLong put a smart ride together staying on 2 wheels and focusing on building back to 100%. Delong finished the day out 8th in the XC1 Pro class. “Had an ok day, but I’m just still trying to get back into the groove of things. I'm pumped that I felt stronger this race which is good and I'm just looking to keep moving forward to get back to where I want to be,” explained DeLong.

Rockstar Energy Athlete and Husqvarna racer, Ryan Sipes also battled top contenders, finishing the day with a 6th in the XC1 Pro class. Andrew DeLong’s brother, Craig DeLong finished 2nd in the XC2 Pro Lites class and 10th overall.
