Press Release

JDR Motorex KTM in line for Super X success after Maitland

JDR Motorex KTM’s Matt
Moss claimed his third Pro Lites win in four rounds at Maitland’s
penultimate round of the Super X, Australasian Supercross Championships, on
Saturday, 12 November.

The two-time
series champion now sits in the box seat for the title ahead of next
weekend’s season finale, holding a 22-point lead after scoring 2-2-1
results in the Hunter Valley aboard his 250 SX-F.

“This weekend went great for me from start to
finish,” 23-year-old Moss explained. “I felt really good on my
bike and I knew in my head that I would have a good night. I’m stoked
to get the win after a disappointing round last weekend, so from here I
need to play it smart and try to wrap it up.”

Maitland wasn’t so kind to Moss’ teammate and
last week’s winner Brenden Harrison, the Queenslander crashing out of
the third final after battling to 8-13 results in the first two. Harrison
now sits third in the series, just one point shy of second heading into his
home round.

In the Pro Open class,
19-year-old Bourke resident Tye Simmonds finished sixth overall via 3-4-12
finishes on the 450 SX-F. A crash in the final race proved costly for
Simmonds, but he now stands just five points off the series lead with a
round to be contested.

“Practice and qualifying went okay, then the heat
race went perfect and I was able to win that,” Simmonds said.
“I felt pretty good on the bike, but in the main event I had bad
cramping in my hand and that was pretty much my night done. Next weekend is
a 20-lap final, so I’m looking forward to that and seeing what we can
do to win this title.”

Top
performing JDR Motorex KTM rider in Maitland was former champion Dan
Reardon, racing to 5-8-4 results for fifth overall. Reardon is now ranked
seventh in the series, well in contention for a top five overall.

Riding the 350 SX-F, Open class rookie Ryan
Marmont finished 10th overall with 13-9-10 results, climbing two positions
in the title chase up to eighth following four rounds.

Motorex KTM Off Road Racing team regular Toby Price
made a guest appearance in Super X for the season, qualifying for the main
event and finishing 18th overall in the Pro Open class against the
nation’s best supercross competitors.

The Super X, Australasian Supercross Championship, will
reach its conclusion next weekend at Ipswich in Queensland on Saturday, 19
November.
