JDR/KTM’s Ryan Marmont eyes maiden victory of 2012 at Toowoomba

Fresh from finishing third at Phillip Island’s round of the Australian Supercross Championships a fortnight ago, JDR/KTM Factory Racing rider Ryan Marmont will be aiming for his first victory of the season when round three reaches Toowoomba, Queensland, on Saturday, 10 November.

Marmont missed much of the outdoor season earlier this year through injury, however his early form in supercross sees him currently sitting third in the series at the halfway point aboard the world championship-winning KTM 250 SX-F.

After completing the ‘Sydney to Gong’ charity cycling event last Sunday, Wollongong resident Marmont is confident he will enter the season’s penultimate round at peak fitness and with his confidence elevated for the series’ final stages.

“I’ve been busy in between rounds and continued my preparation, so I’m in a confident mood for the final two rounds,” Marmont explained. “Phillip Island was a big improvement and the JDR/KTM team is working hard, so we will continue to fight for race wins and hopefully that pays off.”

KTM privateer Kale Makeham also remains in contention for the Under 19s title entering Toowoomba, ranked third in the standings aboard his 250 SX, while SS Racing rider Aaron Tanti leads the Junior Lites series.

This year’s Australian Supercross Championships will span four rounds, contested throughout October and November. Visit www.australiansupercross.com.au for further information on this season’s events.
