THE GREAT ITALIANS

In MX2 is still Paulin the winner, while Zecchina is first in the Under 17

The fog and the snow
did not stop the Internazionali d’Italia Championship, for the Round
#3 which has been held in the great frame of Cingoli, in spite of the cold
which has frozen the 4.500 fans, who have crowded the stands of the
Crossdrome “G.Tittoni”. On such a track, which has been
completely renovated by the Motoclub “A. Fagioli”, that has
celebrated his 65° birthday, the great champions of motocross raced
competitively and showed to have improve their consistence.

The winner of the day
is Philippaerts
(Yamaha Factory Monster), who has demonstrated to have a great form ready for the World
Championship, during the two Finals. A first place in Final #1 and a second in Final #2
gave him the upper step of the podium, in front of the feverish Cairoli
(RedBull
Teka KTM Factory Racing)
and the team-mate
Frossard. They are those three riders who are leading this championship,
and in the overall classification they are separated by few points. In fact
Cairoli gets the head of the classification for 10 points on Frossard
(Yamaha
Factory Monster)
and 15 on Philippaerts. Final #1
is characterized by several over takings among these three riders during the
first lap, at the end of which the French rider take the head of the race,
followed by the two Italian riders, with the Sicilian loosing ground lap
after lap. In this way the fight between the team-mates burst into flame
and during the tenth lap Philippaerts passes Frossard and is undisturbed in
first position at the finish. In Final #2
these three champions are still on the three higher steps, even though with
another order of positions: Cairoli makes a great start and flies toward
his first race victory during this 2011 Internazionali d’Italia
Championship, while Philippaerts controls remaining constantly in second
position. This placement for the Italian-Belgian rider means the overall
victory for him. Behind them there is bagarre for the third position
between Frossard and Strijbos (Suzuki Delta Hens), with the French rider
managing to overcome the Belgian rider just at few laps from the finish.
Aniway great race for Strijbos, who finishes fourth in front of Bobryshev
(Honda World Motocross). The Russian does not manage to take advantage from
two great starts, as it happened in Faenza.
Nagl
(RedBull Teka KTM Factory
Racing)
is fifth placed: he has to race,
trying to recover positions, expecially in Final #2, when he is over the
twentieth position at the end of the first lap.

For the MX2, it is
another great performance by Paulin
(Yamaha Factory Monster), always fighting with the best riders of MX1 and finally able to
keep his leadership by managing to leave behind Chiodi
(Suzuki Valenti Motocross) and Maddii
(KTM BGR).

The Under 17 class is
again a duel between Bernardini
(KTM Maglia Azzurra) and Zecchina
(Suzuki Castellari), who share the victories of the two manches, fighting
till the limit in the second final, when they accidentally crashed, luckily
without consequences. In Final#1,
Zecchina starts badly and is in tenth position at the end of the first lap:
he recovers until the third place, but Seewer
(KTM) is able to keep it behind him, in spite of his will to
recover. During Final#2
it is the Tuscan rider who falls, after having being passed by the rider
from Mantova: he gets up, but he has to be satisfied for his third place
behind the Swiss Seewer, who finally showed to have improved constantly.
Regarding the overall classification, they take the same points, but
Zecchina is the winner an still the championship leader, because of the
best result in the second race, in front of Bernardini, Seewer and Bonini
(Husqvarna) who concludes fourth placed.

Round#3 has finished and all the
problems linked to bad weather seems to be overcame, so Internazionali
d’Italia are ready to reach their epilogue, concerning to 2011
edition. The theatre of the last round will be Gazzane di Preseglie, where,
