Industry Leader and Moto Great, Tommy Carson, to be honored at Met Life Stadium Supercross this weekend!

April 24, 2014 – Manlius, NY:  The Legends and Heroes Tour, a mainstay of the Monster Energy Supercross series, launched its’ new program at the opening round this year with the industry’s first digital media mobile Moto Museum experience, which is part of the Monster Energy Supercross “Party in the Pits”. The display includes period champion machines and historical paraphernalia.  Inside is a state of the art digital showcase sporting the history of Supercross via a video wall for a full audio-visual theater experience. Round 16 of the Monster Energy Supercross in New Jersey will see Tom Carson receive his Legends & Heroes Tour 40th Anniversary of Supercross award for his career achievements.

Tom Carson grew up in Ohio while cutting his teeth at the local tracks on this Honda XR 75 in the mid 70’s.  He was not only a local moto great but ventured into the pro ranks as a Motocross and Supercross professional.  He got his pro license in 1982, was a part of the professional circuit for many years as he raced the Motocross Nationals, Canada, Europe and Supercross.  Always a stand-out at Supercross events, Tommy had numerous top 10 finishes with an outstanding 7th at the famed Talladega SX track in the 250 class.

After his racing career ended, Carson stayed close to the industry.  As part of the Asterick Medical Group in the early days, he, along with Doc Bodner, helped develop today’s Asterick’s Mobile Medical unit.  Today, Tom is Asterisk’s Director of Motor Sports and Professional Rider Representative for the United States and Europe.  On an AMA Professional event weekend, Tom is the onsite rep, maintains Asterisk’s product display and serves as point man for the Asterisk Medical Center.  An original player since the inception of the program, Tom is the hands-on guy and coordinator.  His bottom line each weekend is to make sure that the rig is up and running and that everything is working.  Tom Carson is another lifetime racer, has lived and successfully competed in Europe and the United States and a 2006 National Champion.  Tom knows racing and safety and has a passion to keep them aligned.

Tommy continues to stay involved with the sport, competing when he can.  He won the 2006 National Championship in the +45 class at Loretta Lynn’s and continues to support racers of all skill levels with the Asterick team.

Tom Carson will be honored on the Monster Energy podium and presented with the Legend and Heroes 40th Anniversary of Supercross award Saturday at 5:45 pm, Met Life Stadium.
