How Did Dodge Go? Dodge Amteur National Update

First and foremost, we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that was able to donate the last few weeks. Dodge proved to be very fruitful. The PanicRev crew left SoCal on Tuesday for Hangtown. Before leaving, however, Scott was able to get in touch with Brian Shelby with SonLight Ministries. For last few years, SonLight has been putting on events and holding chapel service at Dodge. Brian let Scott know that he had handed off the ministry responsibilities to Will from Motocross Ministries and that they had the main tent at the track to host an event on Saturday night. However, after getting in touch with Will, Scott came to find out that there wasn’t really an event planned and they were still trying to figure out what they were going to do on Saturday night. Will had mentioned that in the past they had hosted a concert with Christian bands from the area. So there we were, Friday, a week from Saturday night and two days before the PanicREV crew had to leave. Scott and Jeff got right to work and started calling bands and potential guest speakers. The next day or two were pretty stress filled and strapped for time; however, Scott and Jeff were able to secure both a band and a guest speaker. The crew was blessed enough to have an up and coming band, Hazel and Vine, jump on board for the Saturday night event. Moreover, they were able to get Jordan Delaurer to come out and speak. Jordan is a younger racer with an amazing story and recently gave his life to the Lord. As the crew left Tuesday, everyone was pumped on what God had put together. It was a last minute deal, but we all just knew that God was at work and he was going to move in the hearts of his people.

The week went by smoothly. John flew out Monday morning, and Scott and Jeff pulled into the track Tuesday night. The first few days were spent hanging out and fellowshipping with a few of the families that are a part of PanicREV’s Thursday night Bible study. John, Scott, and Jeff also had the opportunity to reconnect with some old friends and focus on building some deeper relationships. Moreover, we were able to pray for and connect with a number of riders that were injured.

Saturday came around and most of the crew was pretty nervous but very excited about what God was going to do that night. Jordan, the guest speaker for Saturday night, was pumped to share his story. Jordan recently gave his life to the Lord and is extremely excited about how God has been revealing Himself and working in his life. Jordan stated, “It was a weird feeling being back at the race track for me. I went through a lot of weird feelings; frustration, happiness to name a couple. However, going on stage that night it seemed like God took over. It wasn’t about me or my story, but about God’s work in my life.” If you have not heard Jordan's story please take a few minutes to check it out:

It was an awesome testimony and God truly bless the Saturday Night event. The band came out and killed it, and God really used Jordan’s testimony to touch the heart of the large number of people that came to check things out. All in all, God showed up in a big way.

The PanicREV crew is really looking forward to next year and what God does at the Dodge Amateur National in 2009. Upon getting home and reflecting Jeff stated, “You know, these events really pump me up and give us more vision for the future. The fact that these kids and families allow us to speak into their lives is amazing. I really believe this is the beginning of what God wants to do with these outreaches, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for PanicREV out at the track. God has given us a big vision for the future. Now it’s really time to pray that God would continue to open doors so we can go out and tell the motocross community about a God that really loves them, and wants to be a part of their lives.”

The PanicREV crew would really like to thank everyone for their prayers and financial support. Without you none of this would be possible. Thank you for stepping up and being part of the exciting work God is doing in this community!

God bless,

The PanicREV Crew
