The riders were awarded with prizes from Academy partners Renthal, One Industries, Vans, Racebikebitz, Polisport and No-Toil after the intense five round battle.

The weekend also saw the first ever Xtreme Academy race in Norway. There were 12 CRF 150R riders competing and the winner was Christian Granbakken, a podium finisher in the Xtreme Academy Nordic Challenge last year, with Dennis Bjørklun second and Alexander Klock third, who were presented trophies by the current Norweigen leader in the national MX1 and MX2 class, Kim Oiva Jarva. The race was held in wet conditions and the overall winner of the national was also young Granbakken.

Prior to the Swedish Grand Prix on Friday pro-riders from the Honda World Motocross factory team Evgeny Bobryshev and Rui Gonçalves joined Xtreme Academy trainer Brian Jorgensen and some of the national Swedish racers in training young CRF riders at the Paradistrack in Alvangen. The day was certainly popular with nearly 70 riders attending, and a huge amount of CRF 150R pilots benefiting from the pro training.

The next stop for the Academy is in Ireland on the 9th of July where LS Honda Racing’s Jonathan Barragan will join Honda World Motocross’s Rui Gonçalves in the first Xtreme Academy Training event on Irish shores. This specialised training is open to all young CRF riders under 23 years of age, and is particularly aimed at Irish riders competing in the Xtreme Academy championship in Southern Ireland.

The Honda Xtreme Academy initiative is aimed at encouraging young Honda fourstroke riders by offering them championships that run alongside their national series, recognition as a Honda rider, pro-training schools, an exciting prize fund, mentoring and much more.
