Honda Red Bull Racing Double Winners at Colorado

Honda Red Bull Racing’s Ivan Tedesco and Ashley Fiolek stormed Thunder Valley MX in Lakewood, CO over the weekend, winning both 450cc and Women’s Motocross events. Aboard Honda’s CRF machines, Tedesco and Fiolek dominated their respective classes to score perfect overall results. Teammate Andrew Short finished second behind Tedesco to put Honda Red Bull Racing one/two on the 450 podium.

At only the second national motocross race run under lights, Tedesco powered his CRF450R first out of the gate in each moto, clinching both holeshots and racing away to lead every race lap. Short was never far behind, racing second in both motos to secure second overall.

"It’s great to see all my hard work over the past year finally paying off,” said Tedesco. “I’d won at Colorado in the 250 class before but this is my first 450 win and my first win for the Honda Red Bull Racing team. It feels great to give Honda not only the win but a one/two finish with Andrew finishing second.

“My season continues to get better with every race and my focus now is to keep this winning momentum going for the remainder of the season. I’m feeling great; never better.”

Ashley Fiolek continues her domination of the women’s competition on her CRF250R as the Honda Red Bull Racing pilot remains undefeated in overall wins this year. In Colorado, she again swept both motos to maintain her undefeated streak for overall finishes, racking up a flawless score of five consecutive round wins.

“I’m pumped with my results this season, especially at Colorado,” said Fiolek. “My aim in the first moto was to come out strong and really push myself hard to get a good start, which I did. In the second moto, it was all about riding smart, finishing the race strongly and earning more valuable points towards my championship point score.

“It’s been a perfect season for me and especially being a part the Honda Red Bull Racing team. I am just so happy that I have been able to make the absolute most of this opportunity to race with the factory team.”

Short is currently second in the 450 championship with 181 points, just 14 points out of first. Tedesco’s win moves him into third in points. Fiolek leads the Women’s Motocross championship, her perfect season putting her a whopping 49 points ahead of second place.
