Helper Out 4-5 Weeks With Broken Collarbone, Hamblin To Fill In 1

Cypress California, January 8, 2009 – During the first practice session at Anaheim 1 Yamaha Factory Racing’s Broc Hepler suffered an unfortunate crash in the whoop section on the first base side of Angel stadium. X-Rays taken at the Asterik Medical rig immediately after the crash confirmed that Broc had broken his right collarbone.

Wanting to get back as soon as possible Broc consulted Doctor Alexander and had the collarbone plated on Tuesday. “The surgery went extremely well and I’m looking forward to starting physical therapy next week. I should be riding at the 4 week mark and back racing shortly after that’, said Hepler when asked about his current condition.

With Broc Hepler out for 4-5 weeks, Sean Hamblin will be returning to the team to fill in. “Last year during the Nationals Sean did a great job filling in for an injured Grant Langston. He’s a great fit with our whole team and we look forward to working with Sean for the next few weeks”, said Team Manager Jim Perry.

“I’m really looking forward to racing this weekend in Phoenix. I’ve been at the Yamaha Supercross track every day this week and I’m really happy with my progress. This is a big opportunity for me and I plan to utilize it to the fullest”, said Sean Hamblin.
