Press Release

Hannah / Alessi / McCarty / Cooper / Pingree / DiRenzo on DMXS Tonight!

There are few riders over our sport’s deep history that evoke the same emotion and respect from fans as Bob "Hurricane" Hannah. His straightforward approach on and off the track had his legion of fans dedicated to the legend in the making on his ascent to the top. One of the defining races in his storied career was undoubtably the 1981 Massacre at Saddleback where he and Kent Howerton were part of one of the most controversial races of all time. For the first time ever, fans can relive the dramatic race on the newly released film on DVD Massacre at Saddleback where never before seen footage from the race can be seen with Hannah himself adding color commentary. Todd Huffman from The Motocross Files lends his genius eye to this stunning film that is sure to be an instant classic. You can get your copy now at www.HannahRacingProducts.com or www.Motocrossfiles.com and check out the trailer on YouTube.

Yamaha’s Racing Division Manager Keith McCarty was also there throughout Hannah’s career and actually captured the epic footage from Saddleback on his own video camera for all motocross fans to now enjoy. Keith will join us as well and add his insight to all the good stuff that never made the magazines about this race and a great deal more.

Rockstar Makita Factory Suzuki’s Mike Alessi is arguably one of the top favorites for an outdoor title going into this season after his impressive speed and results last year prior to the injury. A solid performance at Glen Helen netted a second OA, but you could tell Mike wanted more. We will check in with him after he had a few days to reflect on the opening round.

The supercross season has mercifully ended for Joe Gibbs Racing’s Cody Cooper and the likeable New Zealander looks to do some damage on the track outdoors instead of the other way around. Cody had a solid ride at Glen Helen and is obviously back in his element and will rejoice with us this evening.

I have been bombarded with emails to get Troy Lee Design’s David Pingree back on the show and we aim to please here at DMXS. The voluptuous Pingree will indeed make an appearance during tonight’s festivities as the fans have commanded.

Kevin Kelly is simply living on borrowed time. His constant mockery of Trey Canard’s Hulk-like trainer Greg DiRenzo is bound to end badly for the smart mouthed Georgian. I have invited Greg on the show to respond to Kevin’s taunts and hopefully some details on when he will violently apply the much deserved retribution.
