Press Release

Godfather Privateer Racing AMA Motocross Team Up with Riders, “Get’s Down” with Fans!

San Diego, CA (May 30, 2012) - This season for the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championships and the WMX Championship series, privateer race support program, Godfather Privateer Racing is heading out to the third stop, Thunder Valley MX Park in Lakewood, Colorado with 18 men and women AMA professional racers. This marks the largest grouping of privateer racers ever, and “Godfather” Gus Decker says; “if anyone else needs a place to pit, feel free to come under our tent…the more the merrier”

Godfather Privateer Race Team is a 130ft. long behemoth race tent that is designed to support up to 25 riders at a time. Gus takes riders and their equipment to each round of the series. Furthermore, any privateer in need of support at the races is welcomed to set up under the giant tent, and will be provided with drinks and food and will have use of the team mechanic if they do not already have their own. Any rider in need of transportation to and from the races can ride along in the team motorhome to help save on travel expenses.

The privateer, one-of-a-kind program, also is starting off the 2012 with its’ greatest sponsor support. These privateers are the “working class” pro racers that hold down 9-5 jobs and “sell blood” to pay for new gear and parts. When motocross gear, parts and accessories sponsors like FMF, Bell Helmets, Moto Concepts, ODI, Fly Racing, DT1Filters, etc. donate a new exhaust or grips, these riders are truly appreciative.

Other new sponsors that made the choice to help the program are online retailer Mike Petrunt from www.motocrossdirect.com, Verti-zzzz, Mob, and Off-Road Vixens. As new 2012 sponsor, Lil’ D from FMF put it; “FMF Racing has always been about helping out every level of racer and there is always something special about helping an organization like this. They do it for the passion for the sport and that’s what we are all about here at FMF.”

The AMA Outdoor fans are also appreciative of the personable and extremely approachable racers. At the Godfather Privateer Rig, when a nine-year old kid wants an autograph, there are no stations or “come by at 12:00” signs. Riders are always excited to talk with moto-fans and the moms of the racers are commonly sharing cut-up fresh fruit and baked items with fans as they hang out under the rig to get out of the sun. Godfather Privateer Racing will be interacting with the fans all summer long, giving away free sponsor swag at each and every stop of the tour.

For more information on joining the Godfather Privateer Racing effort, be sure to contact Gus Decker at 209-747-2011. There is still plenty of sponsorship space available on the team awning so for any company interested in supporting these up and coming privateers, please contact Mike Lyons at Pride Marketing Group at manddlyons@yahoo.com
