Four U.S. Privateers Set to do Battle in Moscow Supercross

Following in the wake of the most prestigious international supercross race in the world – the 25th Bercy Supercross – Olympic Stadium in Moscow is set to host the first-ever international supercross race in the Russian Federation.

The racing, set for November 17 & 18, 2007, will be held at the primary site for the 1980 Moscow Olympics. The “Peace Cup” is bound to be an instant classic on the FIM international supercross schedule for years to come, thanks to a solid roster of riders from around the globe. With the help of Eric Peronnard’s efforts to gain access for a few American riders, the United States team will consist of four young privateers, each with their share of racing success both in the U.S. and overseas. Americans Willy Browning, Ricky Renner, Jacob Saylor and Kyle Tobin each have paid their dues in the AMA Supercross series, not to mention several international supercross and motocross events over the last few years. The weekend prior to the Moscow Supercross, Browning, Saylor and Tobin will all compete in round 1 of the German series. Joining the team in Paris before heading off to Moscow, Renner put in solid rides in last year’s German series as well, and plans to further his success in Moscow. Set to battle against the U.S. team is a formidable contingent of riders from all over Europe and elsewhere, such as Ben Coisy, Marvin and Mickael Musquin, Manuel Rivas, Stephen Demartis and many others.

Rounding out the U.S. team, each rider will travel with a personal mechanic to assemble and fine-une the bikes supplied by the race promoter. In addition, the team’s official documentarian, Rupert X. Pellett, will be along to put his own unique twist onto the event for an upcoming feature article in RacerX Illustrated, while online coverage will be available within a few days of the event exclusively at Motocross.com. Also assisting the team are some of the rider’s individual sponsors each of whom have stepped-up with unique gear for their riders and hand-outs for the Moscow fans. Specifically, One Industries, No Fear, FLY Racewear, Engine Ice, ProClean1000 and Fuel Clothing. Thanks to all of the team and individual sponsors, and look out Moscow, because here we come!
