Dunlop Congratulates Newly Crowned Motocross Champions Ken Roczen and Jeremy Martin

Buffalo, NY: We wish to congratulate Dunlop-sponsored Red Bull KTM’s Ken Roczen for wrapping up his first-ever 450 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, as well as Dunlop-supported Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha’s Jeremy Martin for being crowned 250 class champion.

Roczen was a fixture at the forefront of the field all season, but the championship battle came down to the final round at Tooele’s Miller Motorsports Park. With a 20-point advantage over second, a third-place finish in the first moto and a fourth-place finish in the second moto were enough for the rookie to secure the 450 Class title. Roczen held the red plate for 11 rounds, scoring eight moto victories and leading 140 laps en route to the championship.

Heading into the 2014 season, Martin was an underdog in the discussion for title contenders; however, he prevailed and piloted his Dunlop-equipped YZF250 to a total of five victories on his way to the championship. The young 20-year old was dominant throughout the entire season, posting back-to-back wins at the first two rounds and collecting enough points to secure the title with one round still remaining in the series.

This season Dunlop-backed riders dominated the series with an impressive top five overall sweep in both the 250 and 450 classes.  In this open tire series, Dunlop claimed 70 of the 72 possible podiums.
