Division 7/Star Racing/NCY/Yamaha Unadilla MX Race Recap

The AMA outdoor national series is working it’s self into the closing stages, and by visiting the historical Unadilla Valley Sports Center in New York this past weekend another set of accomplishments were at hand for Division 7/Star Racing/NCY/Yamaha. Fielding the top finishing Yamaha pilots, Broc Tickle #35, Matt Lemoine #52, Jake Moss #82, and Wil Hahn #99, left the team content that some good would come of our effort.

Shining on this day would be Moss, even after deciding to take some time off, the determined Aussie got head strong and choose to tackle this race. In moto one, Moss started off comfortably inside the top ten. Very sufficiently, the #82 machine maintained the pace he needed throughout races end and came away with a 10th. Another great start for Moss in moto two had him running 6th for some time, as the race progressed, Moss dug deep and put down solid laps. His strong will paid off, because the rookie took 8th in the moto and a 7th overall on the day that was supposed to be for not.

Next on the list was Lemoine, who once again put together a solid, and consistent day which boosted him to the 10th position in overall points. Moto one for Lemoine began with a 15th place start, most of his time was spent shuffling around throughout the race without any good returns. Never the less, late in the 30 +2 Lemoine was able capitalize on tiring riders and land in 11th. A 18th place start in moto two would be all Lemoine could muster. In the opening five laps, the sophomore put down some great moves which brought him to 14th and in the thick of several battles. As the moto drew to a close, Lemoine kept steady, not chancing throwing away any points and went on to finish 14th, giving him a matching 14th place overall.

Crashing was the issue of our following rider, both motos Hahn found the rather slick soil in the opening laps. In doing so, Hahn faced huge margins to come back in contact with the rest of the field. With that said, in his first visit to this facility he would go 21-17 for 21st overall.

Seeing better days would be Tickle, after a crash in moto one that relegated him to a finish of 20th. Moto two started well, but a collision with another rider on lap one left his front number plate flopping all over. After stopping for assistance, that could not be performed due to the AMA rulebook, Broc continued on, crossing the checkers in 30th leaving him with a 24th overall.
