Diamondback Motocross Hosts Pro-Am Race Event

After an incredibly successful opening weekend supported by both racers and the local community alike, the newly built Diamondback Motocross in East Durham will host a Pro/Am racing event on the weekend of July 14th and 15th.

“Pro-Am events like this are always very exciting and they attract talented racers from all over the northeast because of the large purse money involved, as well as recognition from their peers. The pros really tend to hang it out when there’s big money at stake.” said Sean Goulart, Marketing Coordinator for the Diamondback facility

The new Diamondback Motocross track has created a lot of excitement and opportunities for the local community in East Durham, which features attractions for all ages when the racing is over such as go-karts and mini-golf.

“We’ve been blessed with a lot of help from everyone involved with the track. From the racers and fans to the families who just wanted a fun day out to our industry and corporate sponsors, everyone has been so supportive of the facility. We provide a safe, fun, family oriented atmosphere and all ages are welcome to participate - we have riders ranging in age from 5 to 65 that compete in this sport and that’s one of the things we love about it.” commented James Slaughter, CEO at Xtreme Motocross Series.

“Come on over and see how much fun it is here at Diamondback Motocross, we’ve worked hard to make it a great place to spend a day out. We have a spectator area with food and a great view of the track, camping on-site, ample parking and even a hotel on the property…very few motocross tracks can say all that in one breath.” said Mike Delaney, partner at Diamondback Motocross.

On Saturday July 14th the track will open at 8:00 AM to all riders and practice begins promptly at 9:30. This is a session where some racers will take the opportunity to learn the layout and other weekend warriors will just be there for the fun of riding the new track.

Participants and spectators are welcome to camp for a nominal fee on the property and there is electric and water available. RV and tent camping is available in the large mowed field adjacent to the track and small campfires are allowed. Signup for the next day’s racing event will also run from 7-9 PM on Saturday night after the practice.

On Sunday July 15th the racing event will be in full swing with gates opening and signup beginning at 7:00 AM and practice beginning at 9:30. The racing will be fast and furious all day but spectators are advised to arrive early for early to get the best spots for parking and viewing the event.
