DNA Shred Stix/Star Racing/Yamaha -Millville MX

Millville,
MN.

(July 16, 2011) - After a one weekend break the DNA Shred Stix/Star
Racing/Yamaha team was set to get back into the swing of things at
the top level. Made up of #25 Ryan Sipes, #35 Kyle Cunningham, #387
Gareth Swanepoel, #533 Gannon Audette, and #1 Jessica Patterson, as
well as, #76 Kyle Partridge. All six riders returned to action for
the seventh round of the AMA MX National Series at the Spring Creek
Motocross Park.

First
up was Cunningham, who had another strong performance which was much
needed. Cunningham set himself up in moto one by grabbing the
holeshot, leaving him with a great opportunity ahead of him. From
there, he rode aggressively in the early laps mixing it up with the
leaders while holding 3rd.
Cunningham stayed strong well into the race, keeping close to the
top riders, but he came up a little short of the podium which lead to
his eventual finishing spot of 4th.
Another holeshot in moto two, Cunningham stayed persistent leading
the first lap. Once he was passed, Cunningham stayed gritty and rode
right on the leaders wheels and stayed a factor. Relegated back to
3rd,
Cunningham held there much of the race but late in the going he
slipped to 4th.
Giving the FMF backed rider a stellar overall score of 4th.

Next
in line, Swanepoel had really strong rides going in both moto’s. In
moto one, Swanepoel had a super impressive go of things when he
started 6th.
Sliding back to 8th
mid moto, Swanepoel got going and charged until the end where came
away in 5th.
Moto two saw him hold down 15h
on lap one, only to fall back further to 20th.
Swanepoel regrouped like he did in previous races and forged his way
back up to 12th.

Also
having one good moto, one bad moto on the weekend was Audette.
Audette made his presence known by showing flashes of real speed, and
held down 15th
for most of moto one before settling for 15th.
Audette started his second moto with a 12th
out of the gate; from there he had one of his best showings seeing
him compete around the top ten through the duration and eventually
took 10th.

Feeling
good Sipes started moto one in 4th,
pushing hard and sitting inside the top five by mid moto.
Unfortunately, heat and fatigue for Sipes would follow, and lead to
him finishing in 13th.
Moto two started pretty solid for Sipes, upfront and securing 6th,
the Kentuckian hung tough and stayed upfront briefly. As the moto
progressed, Sipes could not come to terms with his body and the
track, which led to him slipping very far back and eventually he
pulled off.

=19th

Also
adding to the great race results, was Jessica Patterson our WMX pilot
who put two steady moto’s together going 2-1 for 1st
overall.

A
less than stellar day for Partridge was truly unfortunate, after
three crashes in moto one, he’d gut out a long battle only to get
31st.
Partridge tried to race through adversity, as he suffered from some
sort of a complicated fatigue issue that many struggled with, and
though he finished moto two, a hard fought 33rd
would be all he could muster.
