Press Release

DMXS 8/22/07

Pro Circuit swept the podium last week at Millville to add to their already incredible list of accomplishments. It had never been done before, but that just means that Mitch Payton did not have enough time to try it. Brett Metcalfe is finally back healthy and showed those that had forgotten about him that his speed was never in question after a consistent third overall last week. We will catch up with the likeable Aussy tonight.

Tyler Bowers has made plenty of headlines before his first AMA Pro race, but the speculation will end this weekend at Steel City as he will make his debut in the Motocross class aboard a Yamaha with an L&M powerplant. We will weed through all the rumors and hear from Tyler himself about the struggles with the AMA and securing his license and fallout from his recent ad campaign. I have known Tyler for years, and I always wonder how this much controversy can surround this kid when he is so normal away from the track. I hope fans get to see a different side of him tonight and realize that he just wants to race.

Ashley Fiolek is one of my heros. The girl epitomizes all the great attributes that a racer and person should have. She is set to make her debut this weekend at Steel City after having to sit out her beloved Loretta Lynn’s while still recovering from a broken flipper. Ashley and her father Jim will join us tonight.

Michael Byrne has had an up and down season so far but still sits within the top ten in points. His name was mentioned in the Gibbs Racing deal, but it seems like Suzuki wanted him to stay put and pulled the plug on that deal. Byrner will fill us in on that and his plans for the future.

Paul Lindsey is one of the most well-liked and respected people in the pits. Unfortunately, his Motoworld team is not returning next year, but that has opened another door for Paul to walk through. We will hear a behind the scenes account of just what happened and see what the scratch golfer has lines up next.

Davey Coombs just survived another Loretta Lynn’s but had to quickly turn around and prepare for the home-field Steel City race this weekend. Stroupe and Izzi will join Canard as the rookies take their battle to the pro-ranks, and with more subplots than a Jerry Springer show in the championship battles, it looks to be a defining race with only three to go. DC will bench race and maybe we can talk him into pod casting the popular RacerX Motocross shows while we are at it.

Jimmy Button will drop by to detail the latest efforts by Road 2 Recovery and their National Ride Day, "Ride for Recovery." JB will also chime in on the current events and his athletes’ plans during silly season.

If you enjoy the Racer X Motocross show, you can thank Wes Williams and his crew for the countless hours each week spent putting the final product together. DC had a vision, and he and Wes have worked their asses off to make it happen. The budget was strained when Weigandt demanded a full-time hair and make-up specialist, but the show must go on. What you don’t know about Wes is that he has been making his own amateur films since he was 15 years old and has several on his resume. His passion for amateur racing continues and he and Brent Stallo have just launched VurbMoto to cover the amateurs at a grassroots level. Their personal relationship with the riders and their families makes for some intimate and deep coverage on and off the track. If you want to see the next stars emerge form the amateur ranks, make sure to add www.vurbmoto.com to your favorites and see the cool projects these kids have coming up.

DMXS Radio is the #1 motocross internet radio station in Atlanta, on Wednesday, between the hours of 8-11pm. That’s right, baby! We live by the immortal words of the 1970's musician-poet, Gordon Lightfoot, who we are pretty sure coined the phrase, "Go big, or go home."
