Lucas Oil Stadium - Indianapolis, IN

The number 36 of Cole Seely
lined up his Honda at Lucas Oil Stadium Saturday night, but this time
it was the CRF450R of American Honda. Cole was recently selected to
fill in for injured rider Josh Grant for the next four rounds.

Cole
tested the bike for several weeks with the team, and quickly felt
comfortable aboard the bigger machine. The difference for Cole would be
maintaining his pace for 20 laps. But he felt very confident with his
fitness program, and he was ready for Indianapolis.

In the
first heat race Cole started mid-pack and steadily worked his way
forward into a transfer position, passing riders like Mike Alessi and
Nick Wey. Cole finished the 8 lap race in seventh, qualifying for his
first 450 main event, and nearly catching Fabien Izoird for sixth.

In
the main event Cole started near the back of the pack, but kept his
head down and began picking off positions. By the halfway point Cole
found himself in tenth, and after a late pass on Davi Milsaps, finished
the 20 lap main event in ninth position.

A top ten finish in
his first Premier class event aboard a factory bike is a tremendous
accomplishment for the talented young rider.

"It was a lot of
fun," said Cole after the race. "It's really different being on the
bigger bike but I like it a lot. I am really excited for the next few
rounds. I know the experience will be good for me when I get back on
the 250. I’m really happy that Honda gave me this opportunity and I
want to thank everyone at Honda and Troy Lee Designs for making this
happen for me."

Watch for the number 36 of Cole Seely under the American Honda tent at the next round in Jacksonville, FL.
