Cobra Racers Cullin Park & Chase Sexton Successfully Defend Cobra's Mini Os' 50cc Titles

Park sweeps the 4-6 MX and SX crowns and Sexton is tops in both the 7-8 MX and SX classes; two Cobra CX65 racers make the top ten overall

HILLSDALE, Mich., (Dec. 2, 2008) – Cobra-mounted racers successfully defended the Michigan-based company’s 50cc class titles at the 37th annual Winter National Olympics – aka the Mini Os – at Florida’s Gatorback MX Park this past weekend, adding four more crowns to the already unmatchable Cobra mini cycle championship lineage.

 

Florida’s Cullin Park and Illinois’ Chase Sexton, competing in the 4-6/Junior and 7-8/Senior classes, respectively, each swept 1st place in both the Supercross competition and the Motocross competition on their Cobra King 50s at the last major amateur national event of the season. In addition, Massachusetts’ Jake Pinhancos (8th, 7-9 65cc MX Stock) and Missouri’s Austin Forkner (5th, 7-9 SX Stock) put up top ten finishes on the new Cobra CX65.

“We’re obviously pleases with Cullin’s and Chase’s performances in the 50cc class races, defending Cobra’s Mini Os titles in those classes for yet another year,” said Cobra President Sean Hilbert. “We also had three times the number of Cobra 65s competing down there than we had last year, so it was good to hear all the positive feedback on the new CX65. So all things said, it was another great week for Cobra at the Mini Os.”

Joining Park on the 4-6 MX class podium was Tennessee’s Kruz Sampson (2nd) and Maryland’s Jack Rogers (3rd). In all Cobras swept the top ten spots in the 4-6 MX class and 19 of the top 20 spots! In the 4-6 SX class it was much of the same Cobra dominance as Park was joined on the podium by Maryland’s Jarrett Frye (2nd) and Florida’s Jalek Swoll (3rd). In all Cobra kids swept 19 of the top 20 spots in the 4-6 SX class!

 

In the 7-8 SX class Florida’s Jordan Bailey (2nd) and North Carolina’s Justin Dunn (3rd) joined Sexton on the podium. And in the MX class it would have been another Cobra clean sweep had Dunn, who won the first 7-8 MX class moto, not got punted off the track late in the second moto and New York’s David Milana been able to hold the 3rd place position he got in the first moto.
