Chris Ridgway Rides 10x in 2011 Baja 1000

APPLE
VALLEY, CA  NOVEMBER 15, 2011 –
Amputee Chris Ridgway will ride the Baja 1000 on Honda 10x This Friday November
18, 2011.  After mechanical issues
at the 2011 Extremity Games, Ridgway will take the leg of the Baja 1000 that
could be the most treacherous – the 200 miles at night.  “I am antsy, I haven’t done anything
lately and this was an awesome opportunity to race with the Prohens Brothers
that have raced the legendary Dakar Rally,” said Chris Ridgway.

The Class 22 pro team will start 10^th
off the line.  The Honda CRF450x
10x will be ridden by Felipe Prohens and Jaime Prohens of Chile, and Chris
Ridgway of Apple Valley, CA.  Baja
Bound Adventures Tim Morton has prepared the Honda 10x for the team. 

The 44^th
Running of the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 will start at 6:30am Friday November 18^th
with the Motorcycle and ATV Classes. Riders will have 32 hours to complete the 692

About Chris Ridgway – Chris Ridgway is an
amputee and competes wearing a prosthetic left leg.  His professional
motocross career was cut short in 1995 when he had a “bad day at the office”
falling from over 30 ft in the air and has since struggled to maintain strength
in both his legs. After eight years, he finally convinced a doctor to amputate
his left leg and is now stronger than ever.  His competitive spirit
originated with motocross and now he competes in many different events,
including motocross, Rock Racing, King of the Hammers, Grand Am Rolex Series,
the Silver State Classic, and Baja 1000.  Some of his impressive wins
include the X Games Gold Medalist: 2008, 2009; and the Extremity Games Gold
Medalist: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010.
